 Just-Friends Jazz Band - South Africa Just-Friends Jazz Band for special occasions, weddings , parties, functions in South Africa. 'Just Friends' from left to right: Africa (saxaphone), Viwe (bass) and Zakes (keyboard). Zakes was born in Boksburg. His love for music developed at church where he first met and saw the piano. At age 16 he started with piano lessons. By matric, his interest expanded to include jazz and contempary music. He is presently studying at TUT and after graduating, he would like to teach and perform jazz. Viwe has played nationally and internationally and has won various awards. He started playing at 17 and discovered jazz at TUT. He has had master classes with the best bass player in the world! Africa was raised by his grandparents in Daveyton. He has a love and passion for music and states that without music there would be no life.
